Car modeling excercise: first render

335i

The reason why it’s such a tight crop (and lit with low key light) is because the rest of car aren’t detailed yet. :D

Edit: first beauty render

First full body render

Thats a great shot. Can you talk a bit about your light rig, and shaders?

Lights: key light is a sun coming from camera left, very low on the horizon. There is another lamp light at the bottom right corner, accenting the details of the lower bumper.

Material is your typical Blender material with ray-traced reflection enabled. No textures or nodes yet. (meaning no metallic micro-speckles yet)

Rendering is pretty fast at a mere 4 minutes on a Core 2 Quad.
