Continuing my work on this car, I’ve added the headlights today. Apparently that’s what those rounded headlamps are called on a BMW – Angel Eyes.
And since a few of you asked about what lighting system I used, here is the setup I am using:
Sorry to disappoint. Yes the car is lit with just a single Hemi light source. (Take that David!) The rest is done with Ambient Occlusion using an HDR image texture.

Is this Blender internal render ?
What trick did you use to render the Angel Eyes ? Due to their shape, it must be really hard to render them with the internal renderer or any external that I know (like Lux).
(sorry for duplicate if the comments are moderated, but my previous comment does not appear, I only try two times)
What trick did you use to render the front lights ? As far as I understand their shape and how they work, it is impossible to render with internal renderer or something like LuxRender.
Is this Blender internal render ?[²]
amazing work, congrats!
Yes it’s done with the internal Renderer in Blender 2.5. The above image only took 4 minutes to render at 1920×1080. I’d like to see another ray-tracer to that :D
nice
Why my comments are not published asking how did you do the render of the eyes with the internal ?
